Description
In 1844, Dorr was found guilty of treason and was sentenced to solitary confinement and hard labor for life. During his time in prison, he was purportedly given the task of painting women's hand-fans for the La Moselle Eventail Elastique brand. This fan (recto), created sometime around 1845 and adorned with a floral motif, is attributed to Dorr.
