St. Julia's Women's Club; Weston, Massachusetts; May 25, 1966; no.31. <br/> Dimensions: H. 8" D. of top 3 7/8" D. of bottom 4 3/4" 20.5ozt. <br/> Embellishing the front of this exceptional tankard is the Parks coat of arms and crest. The beautiful design consists of three deer heads running vertically, enclosed in an oval ring. Surrounding this is a foliate scroll motif. The most inner circle is divided vertically into three sections. The mid-section includes three engraved deer heads against a plain background. The other two sections are shaded with parallel lines. The body of the tankard is straight with tapering sides, moulded rim and baseband. It is topped with a stepped cover and button-shaped finial. The scroll handle with an erect scroll thumbpiece ends with a cast button terminal which has a dog on torus on the tip. Attaching the hollow handle at the bottom is an elliptical body joining. |
