Mark: IO, capitals in an oval, stamped near each grip, but on opposite sides, and running off the tongs <br/> Engraved: I . V. S. H <br/> Exhibited: Newton College of the Sacred Heart; Newton, Massachusetts; March 10, 1963. Salve Regina College; Newport, Rhode Island; May 17, 1964. <br/> Dimensions: L. 5 1/8" 1.2ozt. <br/> These are the second pair of scissor tongs by Jonathan Otis in the Moore Collection. They have shell terminals and scrolled openwork sections above and below the joint. An engraved stylized flower on each side of the joint displays greater skill execution than the other pair. On the outside of one grip four initials I V S H are engraved in block letters. |
