Mark: R E V E R E, capital letters, in rectangle on inside of both arms <br/> Engraved: L J D <br/> Exhibited: Newton College of the Sacred Heart; Newton, Massachusetts; March 10, 1963; no. 113. Salve Regina College; Newport, Rhode Island; May 17, 1964; no. 113. St. Julia's Women's Club; Weston, Massachusetts; May 25, 1966; no. 41 <br/> Dimensions: L. 5 3/4" 1.23 ozt. <br/> The spring-type sugar tongs features two solid arms tapering slightly to shell terminals and joined at the other end through a curved and shaped arch. This sugar tongs was made from one piece of silver, cut out from a sheet of metal. Bright-cut decorations and engraving ornament the tapering arms and arch. The engraving is L J D in script, situated on the outside of the arch. |
