P A R K E R, capital letters with pellet, in rectangle on back of handle <br/> Engraved: I R to W R <br/> Exhibited: Newton College of the Sacred Heart; Newton, Massachusetts; March 10, 1963; no. 121. Salve Regina College; Newport, Rhode Island; May 17, 1964; no. 121. <br/> Dimensions: H. 1 7/8" D. 5 3/8" L. 8 1/16" 8.97 ozt. <br/> The style of this porringer was common in Boston at this time and is seen in several pieces owned by Mr. Moore. It features convex sides, a domed bottom, and a keyhole handle. The plain style of the bowl is reflected in the plainly ornamented handle. The engraving is I R to W R in block letters and lowercase letters situated on top of the handle facing the rim. |
