This porringer was found in France and was probably taken from Rhode Island by Loyalists returning to Europe (Museum Silver Shop Inc., May 4, 1960). It has a geometric-type handle, commonly used in early American silver prior to 1725. The engraving "J Ward" in script on top of the handle was added later. |
