A, script initials with raised pellet between in a rectangle, in the center of the bottom <br/> Engraved: C <br/> Exhibited: Newton College of the Sacred Heart; Newton, Massachusetts; March 10, 1963; no. 109. Salve Regina College; Newport, Rhode Island; May 17, 1964; no. 109. <br/> Dimensions: H. 5 1/4" 4.275ozt. <br/> This caster is typical of those being made at mid-century. The caster is vase-shaped, on a moulded, splayed foot. The tall, slightly domed cover is in proportion to the body. The cover is pierced in six panels of overlapping geometric leaves. A turned, bell-shaped finial rests on top of the cover. The initial C is cut into the inside of the foot. |
