Mark: S . E, capital letters, with raised pellet between, in shield with crown above and fleur-de-lys below, stamped on bottom <br/> Engraved: L L : K M L G <br/> Exhibited: Newton College of the Sacred Heart; Newton, Massachusetts; March 10, 1963; no. 18. Salve Regina College; Newport, Rhode Island; May 17, 1964; no. 18. <br/> Dimensions: H. 5 1/2" D. of bottom 1 3/4" 4.03ozt. <br/> This caster displays the vase-shaped body form found in Thomas Edwards' and Thomas Townsend's casters. The body rests on a moulded splayed foot. It has a high, slightly domed top divided into six perforated panels. three with a criss-cross design alternating with three with engraved leaf designs. It is terminated with a bell finial. It is engraved L L in block letters, each letter on either side of the mark on the bottom. Located on the upper section of the body is a script monogram of the letters K M L G. |
