Mark: D A N E, capitals in an oval, twice, below the rim on each side of the handle <br/> Engraved: W D R <br/> Exhibited: Salve Regina College; Newport, Rhode Island; May 17, 1964; no. 93. <br/> Dimensions: H. 5 3/8" D. of top 3 1/8" D. of bottom 3 1/2" 11.155 ozt. <br/> This cann has a very bulbous body and rests on a moulded base. The rim flares slightly with incised lines below the rim. The double-scroll handle has a grip and double-scroll tip. The handle is joined to the body at the top by a projecting circular body and at the bottom by an ovoid disk. Engraved on the handle, below the grip, are the early owner's initials, W D R. |
